Links: | Chandra | Circinus | chart |April 14, (Day 104, Weakness): NASA released X-ray photos of a nebula with a pulsar that resembles a human hand. Closer observation reveals a bright spot near the base of the hand where the nail scar would be in the hand of Christ. The photo was made by NASA's Chandra X-ray Observatory of a very young and powerful pulsar, PSR B1509-58, which is about 17,000 light years away in the Constellation Circinus. The pulsar is spinning about 7 times a second. Astronomers believe the pulsar is about 1700 years old. The photo of the nebula spans about 150 light years.
The constellation Circinus is near Crux, the Cross, and under Centaurus. Circinus is one of the names of the modern constellations. It was named around 1750, which means it is not recognized in the ancient Star Gospel.
